Member List
Introduction

The introduction was done by Leslie Williams, who welcomed  and thanked Abbott, who sponsored the meeting.  The attending members were encouraged to sign in, as this could increase their chances in next year's AACC drawing. A minor change has been made in that selection procedure - each member will be given one "vote" towards the drawing for each meeting that he/she attends. All the "votes" will be put into the hat at next year's drawing. Thus someone who attends all our meetings has 4x the chance to be randomly chosen.

Abbott Presentation

Victor Motroni and Frank Lanuza from Abbott gave demos on the I-STAT and the PCX glucose meter. Abbott's Precision Net connectivity package was demonstrated at length.

Special Presentation

Cindy Bartholomew from Baystate Medical Center in Springfield gave her award-winning presentation on the elimination of Gastroccult testing from her facility. This abstract was chosen as the best POCT abstract at the 2002 AACC National Convention in Orlando.

AACC Review

Janet Means, Kathy Anestis and Leslie Williams gave summary presentations of the lectures, edutraks and sessions that each attended while at the AACC convention.  These presentations are available for review on the BayState POCT website.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:45 pm.

Next Meeting

The next meeting will be November 13th at the St Elizabeth's Hospital.
