LEARNING OBJECTIVES

 

Cardiac Markers—why all the confusion?” Presentation:

 

Upon completion of this session the participant will be able to:

 

1. Describe the challenges associated with cardiac patient testing to both the laboratory

    and clinical staff.

2. Discuss the role the lab must play as educator to the clinical staff.

3. Delineate the differences between analytical and clinical performance of cardiac marker

    testing.

Upon completion of this session the participant will be able to:

 

1. Describe the changes in the guidelines that impact both the lab reporting and the clinical

    treatment of the patients undergoing cardiac testing.

2. Discuss the implications of the guidelines and the challenges associated their adoption.

3. Differentiate specific patient populations that may create confusion between the

    laboratory results and the clinical picture.

From the East

  1. Take Business Route 33 to Route 537 in Freehold.

  2. Make a left at light onto 537 West.

  3. Proceed on 537 West for about 1.8 miles.

  4. The Star and Barry Tobias Ambulatory Campus will be on your right, just after CentraState Medical Center.

From Ocean County & South Jersey

  1. Take Route 9 North into Freehold.

  2. Take the West Main Street/ Route 537 exit.

  3. Turn left and proceed west on 537.

  4. Continue straight for approximately 1.8 miles and the Star and Barry Tobias Ambulatory Campus will be on your right, just past CentraState Medical Center.

From Northern Jersey/New York

  1. Take the Garden State Parkway South to Exit 123 (Route 9 South).

  2. Take Route 9 South past Freehold Raceway to the West Main Street/Route 537 Exit ramp.

  3. Turn right onto Route 537 West.

  4. Continue straight for approximately 1.8 miles.

  5. The Star and Barry Tobias Ambulatory will be on your right, just past CentraState Medical Center. 

From New Brunswick Area & Northwest

  1. Take Route 18 East to Route 9 South.

  2. Proceed as above.

From the Hightstown Area

  1. Take Route 33 East.

  2. Stay on Route 33 East until it splits.

  3. BEAR RIGHT onto Route 33 BUSINESS (Freehold).

  4. Proceed straight and make right onto Wemrock Road (Wemrock Orchard on your right side is a landmark).

  5. Continue straight on Wemrock Road to Route 537 (major intersection with traffic light).

  6. Turn right onto Route 537.

  7. Proceed approximately ¾ mile to the Star and Barry Tobias Ambulatory Campus on the right (just past CentraState Medical Center).

From the Philadelphia Area

  1. Take the New Jersey Turnpike to exit 7A for 195 East.

  2. Take to the Great Adventure/Freehold exit for 537 East.

  3. Continue straight for approximately 7.3 miles.

  4. The Star and Barry Tobias Ambulatory Campus will be on your left. (If you pass CentraState Medical Center on your left, you've gone too far.)
