Beaumont Hospital in Detroit, MI. Diverse topics related to Point of Care Testing
were covered from both the administration and clinical points of view. The workshop
was held at the Adam's Mark, Philadelphia on October 16. Participants included Med

Ms. Main talked about
the development of a Point of Care program at William Beaumont 10 years ago when there
were very few, if any, Point of Care programs. She provided anecdotal stories to
back up her content making her portion insightful and interesting. Dr. Kiechle spoke to the current research on
Point of Care testing, data management options and the types of instruments being used at
William Beaumont. As one of the foremost researchers and authors in Point of Care
testing (see Publications), Dr. Kiechle's lecture
was helpful and relevant to the available technology. Both speakers provided
excellent packets supporting their presentations. |
The session was useful because the
content was so well founded and questions were asked and answered freely. The
exchange between the attendees and the presenters was informative to all of the attendees.
Everyone took something away from the conference. This workshop has been
presented often over the past ten years by Dr. Kiechle and Rhonda Main. If you have
the chance to attend one of their sessions in the future, do it. You won't regret
this well-spent Saturday learning tons about Point of Care testing and advancing your
professional career!
