Educational Portion of Meeting The subject of the educational portion of the meeting was network and bar code systems as they relate to point of care testing. Kevin Brenneman and Keith Ensor from York Hospital spoke about hospital network and how information gets from a POCT device to the LIS including installation and maintenance of a POC data collection system.
Ken Varteresian from Intermec Technologies spoke about various barcode symbologies and technologies as well as how barcodes are enablers for patient care. Business Meeting Celebrations and Successes- Rick Lebo announced that Skip Lentz would be retiring from Nova Biomedical and that this would be Skip’s last meeting as an employee of Nova.
