“Billing, Compliance, Efficiency
& Connectivity in Point of Care Testing”

The first meeting of the Point-of-Care Coordinators of Alabama was held on December 5, 2002 at the Baptist Montclair Hospital in Birmingham and hosted by Kelley Mitcham, BS, MT(ASCP), POCT Coordinator - Baptist Montclair and Baptist Princeton, and the President of the POCCA.

Christopher Fetters, President and Founder of Nextivity, a Point of Care Consulting firm in York, PA was the guest speaker and spoke at length on the subject of Billing, Compliance, Efficiency and Connectivity in POCT.

Throughout his energetic and interactive presentation, meeting attendees were provided with today's trends in POCT and how, and most importantly why, hospitals should bill for their POC tests.

Kelley Mitcham closed the meeting by raffling off holiday centerpieces and Point of Care.net t-shirts and thanked vendors Abbott Diagnostics and Medical Automation Systems for their sponsorship and support of this inaugural meeting.
