Meeting Summary: The first part of our second meeting was a presentation, "Koalin vs Celite for ACT Testing and Electronic QC" and CMS update regulations, by Dan McClain, Sales Specialist from i-STAT Corporation. Dan's presentation was addressed in a manner that we all walked away with a better knowledge of the topics. Thank you Dan. The second part of the meeting consisted of what topics should be discussed at the next meeting. CAP preparation was decided with emphasis on proficiency, competency, PI, and method validation. Denise has sent postcards to other facilities in hopes of sparking an interest and expanding the attendance of our group. It was also decided to change the name of the group to "Upstate New York Point of Care Coordinators since the group has members traveling from Utica and Buffalo. Next Meeting: The next meeting will be April 5, 2004 at 4:30 to 6:30 at Strong Memorial Hospital. Please call or E-mail Denise if you are interested or need information on this group at 585-341-8458, Denise_Danzirotolo@urmc.rochester.edu |
