This meeting will be held at the Hershey Public Library located east of the Hershey Medical Center on Cocoa Avenue. Hershey Public Library - 701 Cocoa Avenue, Hershey, PA  17033

  • From I-83 North: Take US 322 EAST (EXIT 8) Follow US 322 EAST toward EPHRATA. Merge onto US 322 E. Go 3 traffic lights past the Medical Center and turn left onto Cocoa Avenue.

  • From I-76 West: Merge onto PA TPKE Toll. Take the PA 72 EXIT. Turn LEFT onto PA 72. Stay straight to US 322 WEST to Hershey. Stay on US 322 to Cocoa Avenue, turn left.

  • From US 15 North: Take PA 581 EAST exit I 83 Harrisburg/Hershey. Merge onto PA 581 EAST. PA 581 will become I 83 NORTH. Take US 322 EAST exit toward EPHRATA. Merge onto US 322 EAST. Go 3 traffic lights past the Medical Center and turn left onto Cocoa Avenue.

Laurence Demers,  Ph.D.

Dr. Laurence M. Demers, PhD, DABCC, FACB is Distinguished Professor of Pathology and Medicine at The Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and former Director of Clinical Chemistry, Automated Testing and Central Processing sections of the Clinical Laboratories. He is the Director of the Core Endocrine and Pathology Services Laboratories at Penn State’s Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.  Dr. Demers is a graduate of Merrimack College, and received his doctorate in biochemistry from the State University of New York, Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse, NY.  He is a Past President of the National Academy of Clinical Biochemistry and the American Association of Clinical Chemistry.  He is an active researcher and has published 525 papers, and three books.  In 1986, he was the recipient of the prestigious Ames Award given by the AACC for his outstanding contributions to Clinical Chemistry. He has also earned several other national awards.
